Can I use Visor’s Project Gantt Chart Template for free?
Yes, upon registering you will have a 14-day free trial of Visor’s Team plan, giving you access to all of Visor’s premium features. Our Gantt view is one of those premium features. Our Jira and Asana importer is also available across all plans, including our free plans. After this trial period, your Gantt chart will still be in tact.
To make edits to it or adjust it after your trial, you can select our Team, Starter, or Business plan. You can also continue using Visor’s Free account, which lets you continue to use our Board view and Table view.
TLDR: Visor uses our Gantt chart view for our Project Gantt Chart template. This view is a premium view, which you can use for 14 days during our free trial. Your Gantt won’t be erased after the 14 days.
What formatting and customization can I do with my Project Gantt Chart using this template?
Visor offers a few options to customize your Gantt, including:

Let’s go over the customization options:
Conditional Formatting:
You can color-code your Gantt chart using the exact HEX colors you want or using color presets. The bars and milestones will match the colors you chose for different dropdown fields. For instance, if tasks that are marked as “urgent” in the “priority field,” are color-coded as red, then bars in your Gantt chart will appear red for those tasks. You can choose one field that determines the color coding for your Gantt.
Filtering, Levels Shown, and Zooming In or Out:
You can filter data in your Gantt. For instance, if you only want to show work done by certain team members, you can filter out certain assignees.
Levels shown is for nested data. If you have subtasks that level under a task, you can choose to show them or not to show them.
Lastly, Zooming In or Out allows you to determine how your Gantt chart is plotted across the horizontal axis. Do you want the time period to be by weeks and months or sprints and quarters?
Milestones
You can make tasks milestones in your Gantt chart. This helps you, your team, and your stakeholders see what dates are the most important.
Group By:
Visor’s Gantt view offers a feature called Group by, which allows you to group your data in swimlanes to our Gantt charts. In order to use this feature, you must group your roadmap by a field that has at least two dropdown choices. You can use this feature in our Gantt view.
Can I use Visor’s Project Gantt Chart Template even if I don’t have start and end dates for my project data?
Unlike our Board views (which does allow you to plot data without dates), our Gantt view does require that you have start and end dates to use our Project Gantt Chart Template.
However, if you don’t have start and end date fields in Jira or Asana, you can add custom date fields in Visor to plot your Gantt after importing your project data. These date fields won’t appear in the app you’re importing data from but will help you plot your project Gantt chart in Visor.
Can I import fields from apps like Jira and Asana for my Visor project Gantt chart?
Yes, you can import fields from apps like Jira and Asana into Visor.
However, as noted above, if you are using our Project Gantt Chart Template (whether for making Jira Gantt charts or Asana Gantt Charts), you do need date fields to plot your project Gantt chart.

If I have multiple projects in Jira or Asana, can I import them all with Visor’s Agile Gantt chart template?
To import multiple Jira projects into Visor, you can use our JQL importer. If you need help (Check out our JQL cheat sheet if you need help.) Because Visor offers the ability to that has multiple Jira projects, we are a great solution for Jira portfolio management.
While Jira does offer its own Gantt-like visualizations, Timeline and Advanced Roadmaps, only Advanced Roadmaps allows for multiple projects and is only available with more Premium or Enterprise subscriptions. Jira guest access is also tricky with this option. Visor is a great alternative.

For Asana users:
Our basic Asana importer makes it easy to bring in multiple projects while using our Agile Gantt chart template.
While Asana does offer a portfolio add-on, t is not included in all plans. Therefore, a cost-effective way to hack Asana project portfolio management is to use Visor.
